A great place to start is the Greater Vallejo Recreation District, or GVRD as we know it. This organization coordinates and manages a wide variety from Martial Arts classes to Art programs to Foreign Language lessons.
The Greater Vallejo Recreation District (GVRD) is an Independent Special Service District, and is funded primarily by property taxes paid by residents of the district to provide recreational activities and leisure services to the citizens of Vallejo.
Check out the GVRD schedule and you’ll be hard-pressed to not find at least one activity you’re interested in. Not to mention all of the classes and events are inexpensive and affordable.
Explore the great outdoors in Vallejo
Because Vallejo is a waterfront city, it is also part of the 500 mile San Francisco the San Francisco Bay Trail. Vallejo is also the starting point for the Napa Valley Vine Trail which is an 11.8 mile asphalt/concrete trail. Although currently a work-in-progress, many people follow the route and enjoy the Vallejo and Napa scenery.
